My life has been spent in education as a Senior Teacher in charge of the Creative Studies Department of a Comprehensive School. Since retirement I have been able to continue my interests through Further Education and in making historic and ecclesiastical furniture; accompanying children abroad on music and language exchanges, restoration of vintage cars and lecturing across Reading to a wide variety of people.

In the name of Education and Culture I work with a team of three other volunteers taking actively retired people on visits to Exhibitions, Galleries, Historic Houses, Museums etc and after some thirteen years we have completed over 350 of these with a membership of almost 500. Further interests include serious study of certain periods in History and Art, playing  the organ and  piano and  reading  perhaps  more  fact  than fiction.
